The Waterwise programme is a vital part of preparing our students to safely enjoy life in our seaside community.
The Waterwise programme is designed to develop swimming and water safety skills for all children at all levels of our school. Classroom teachers, often with parent helpers administer the first four levels of the programme using our school pool Level 0-3. Students bus to a local swim school for Level 4 tuition.
An extension to the programme, covering sailing and kayaking, is offered for Year 5 and 6 students who have completed the swimming and water safety components. This program enables capable swimmers to use the beaches and boating clubs in our local area safely, and experience aquatic pursuits that could provide lifelong recreational enjoyment.
