Absences
The school must be informed of any pupil absence. A buddy system operates where parents are asked to nominate a buddy at the school for their child. When the child is absent, the buddy informs the class teacher of the reason for the absence.
Absences can also be reported by phone – call (09) 479 4301 and leave a message on the answerphone or email absence@brownsbay.school.nz
Parents are asked to provide a written note or email explaining the absence to the class teacher on their child’s return to school.
School staff may contact parents where absences are unexplained.
