Your child’s English skills is our top priority. Every week, two to three English lessons are held with small groups of children of similar English levels. Taught by qualified English for Speakers of another Language teachers, these lessons cover all areas of English from speaking, listening, writing, reading, grammar and vocabulary.
All our international students are supported and encouraged to embrace the New Zealand culture, whilst respecting the culture from where they came from. To support you and your child’s transition into Browns Bay School, and throughout your time here, our assigned teacher aides assist your child in their school life. We also introduce you to your BBS parent group coordinator to extend support to your family.
Our sports and cultural opportunities, include a range of team sports, an extensive creative and performing arts program including choir, bands, drama and dance groups.

Browns Bay School accepts students for a minimum of one school term, and most of our students study with us for at least one year – often continuing for several years. All students must be living with a parent while they are studying with us.
